The fear of the unknown

When starting the process of deciding and then going through the first stages of divorce, there is a lot of fear of the unknown. These fears include;

  • Navigating children, especially young children
  • Figuring out your finances, being able to provide enough income to support your family
  • Finding a solid support system.
  • Realizing who your friends are and acknowledging the possibility of losing some friendships.
  • Utilizing your options, including support programs
  • Perusing child support

Fearing the unknown does not mean you should not file for divorce. Also, staying for your children should not be a reason. Children pick up on body language and words. Remember, we are our children’s most prominent teachers.

Learning who you are after your divorce

It’s essential to take the time to discover who you are after your divorce. What makes you happy? What do you enjoy? Deciding what you want to do during your free time? Who do you wish to spend time with? Finding who your true self is is so important.

Being one with myself is very empowering. Knowing I can stand on my own two feet without someone there as a crutch is very, very empowering.” – Spring Basey

Finding the right divorce attorney for you.
