I was born and raised in Cibolo, outside of San Antonio. The community I grew up in were honest folks who valued family over everything. I learned how important family is from an early age.
But I also saw how painful it could be when a married couple wasn’t right for each other.
During my first year of law school at Texas Tech University, I planned to make use of my English degree as an appellate lawyer.
But in my second year, I took a marital property class. The professor painted a picture of a fascinating area of law. Every divorce was a puzzle to solve: finding assets, engineering a solution, and fiercely defending your clients’ future in court, if necessary.
I thought to myself, screw appellate court. This is what I want to do!
After graduating cum laude, I moved to Bryan/College Station and worked at several local family law firms. I built a reputation as a lawyer who could be both a compassionate counselor, and a fierce advocate.
But I knew that I wanted more than the firms I was working for. Like so many of the clients that I represented, I decided to strike out on my own and build something for myself.
So in 2002, I founded C.E. Borman & Associates.
